ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,447,203, issued on Oct. 21, was assigned to Pfizer Inc. (New York).

"Glycoconjugation processes and compositions" was invented by Jianxin Gu (Paramus, N.J.), Jin-hwan Kim (Suffern, N.Y.), Avvari Krishna Prasad (Chapel Hill, N.C.) and Yu-ying Yang (Stamford, Conn.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The invention provides eTEC linked glycoconjugates comprising a saccharide covalently conjugated to a carrier protein through a (2-((2-oxoethyl)thio)ethyl)carbamate (eTEC) spacer, immunogenic compositions comprising such glycoconjugates, and methods for the preparation and use of such glycoconjugates and immunogenic compositions."
