ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,365,134, issued on July 22, was assigned to Peridot Print LLC (Palo Alto, Calif.).

"Three-dimensional printing" was invented by Jesiska Tandy (San Diego), Stanley J. Kozmiski (San Diego) and Alay Yemane (San Diego).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A materials kit for three-dimensional (3D) printing can include a powder bed material including from about 60 wt % to 100 wt % composite fibers including glass fibers coated with an encapsulating polymer, wherein the composite fibers have an average length of from about 100 micro metre to about 700 micro metre and an average diameter of from about 20 micro metre to about 70 micro metre.
