ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 11 -- United States Patent no. 12,468,215, issued on Nov. 11, was assigned to Penumbra Foundation (New York).
"Photographic color image using black and white emulsion" was invented by Eric Rosenthal (Landenberg, Pa.), Stephen Mohn (St. Paul, Minn.), Morgan Post (Newburgh, N.Y.), Eric Taubman (New York) and Geoffrey Berliner (New York).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A photographic film is formed by combining panchromatic black and white emulsion with a color filter array to produce a full color image using only black and white film and processing."
The patent was filed on Oct. 7, 2022, under Application No. 17/962,056.
