ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,428,865, issued on Sept. 30, was assigned to Pentair Water Pool and Spa Inc. (Cary, N.C.).

"Algorithm for a pool cleaner" was invented by Kevin J. Braidic (Carlsbad, Calif.), John Rotundo (Carlsbad, Calif.), Daniel B. Freve (Somerville, Mass.) and William Sowerwine (Somerville, Mass.).
