ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,464,308, issued on Nov. 4, was assigned to Pelagic Concepts LLC (Wilmington, Del.).
"Emoji that indicates a location of binaural sound" was invented by Philip Scott Lyren (Bangkok).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A smartphone displays an emoji that when activated plays sound that externally localizes in binaural sound to the listener. The emoji includes an indication that shows a location where the sound will externally localize as the binaural sound away from a head of the listener when the listener activates the emoji."
The patent was filed on Jan. 8, 2024, under Application No. 18/407,005.
