ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,258,435, issued on March 25, was assigned to PATCHAM USA LLC (Fairfield, N.J.).
"Method for preparing low density polyurethanes using catalysts that are free from tertiary amines and tin" was invented by Stephen Edward Cavender (Charlotte, N.C.), Rajeshkumar K. Patel (Sharjah, United Arab Emirates) and Nishith K. Patel (West Orange, N.J.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed is a method for preparing a soft, water blown, polyurethane foam product, or microcellular elastomer using a stable, liquid, tertiary amine and tin-free polyurethane catalyst. The catalyst contains a combination of bismuth and sodium carboxylates."
