ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,370,104, issued on July 29, was assigned to Paramount Bed Co. Ltd. (Tokyo).
"Bed apparatus" was invented by Shinnosuke Kubota (Tokyo), Tatsuya Shimada (Tokyo), Masato Shimokawa (Tokyo) and Toshihide Shiino (Tokyo).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A high-performance bed apparatus is provided. The bed apparatus includes a supporting unit that supports a user, and a control unit that controls an operation of the supporting unit, wherein a speed of the operation of the supporting unit in a case where the user manipulates the supporting unit is higher than a speed at which the control unit automatically causes the supporting unit to operate."
