ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,398,828, issued on Aug. 26, was assigned to Panduit Corp. (Tinley Park, Ill.).

"Slotted bolt cleat binder" was invented by Rodney G. Rouleau (Manhattan, Ill.), Joseph D. Cicero (Chicago) and Andrew W. Booth (Pickering, Great Britain).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A cleat binder is used to secure cables for short circuit protection. The cleat binder includes a yoke, a slotted hex head bolt, a nut, and a strap. The slotted hex head bolt has a head and a slot extending through the bolt.
