ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,427,404, issued on Sept. 30, was assigned to PANDA HARDWARE LLC (Spring House, Pa.).

"Game controller with modular external shell" was invented by Matthew Samperi (Lansdale, Pa.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A game controller which comprises shell members that can be easily disconnected such that external shell components or controls of the game controller can be swapped out for shells, controls, etc. having different aesthetics. Preferably, magnets are used which provide that no tools are needed to take the shell apart."
