ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,278,802, issued on April 15, was assigned to Palo Alto Networks Inc. (Santa Clara, Calif.).

"Combined machine learning and formal techniques for network traffic analysis" was invented by Charanraj Thimmisetty (Dublin, Calif.), Praveen Tiwari (Milpitas, Calif.), Viswesh Ananthakrishnan (Palo Alto, Calif.) and Claudionor Jose Nunes Coelho Jr. (Redwood City, Calif.).
