ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,365,684, issued on July 22, was assigned to PAION UK Ltd. (London).

"Short-acting benzodiazepine salts and their polymorphic forms" was invented by Gary Stuart Tilbrook (Huntingdon, Great Britain) and Louisa Jane Quegan (Cambridge, Great Britain).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The invention relates to besylate salts of the compound of formula (I):Methods of preparing the salts, and their use as medicaments, in particular for sedative or hypnotic, anxiolytic, muscle relaxant, or anticonvulsant purposes is also described."
