ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 18 -- United States Patent no. 12,473,596, issued on Nov. 18, was assigned to Pacific Biosciences of California Inc. (Menlo Park, Calif.).
"Delaying real-time sequencing" was invented by Tyson A. Clark (Menlo Park, Calif.), Jonas Korlach (Camas, Wash.), Cheryl Heiner (La Honda, Calif.), Kevin Travers (Menlo Park, Calif.) and Erik Miller (Berkeley, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Methods, compositions, and systems are provided that allow for reliable sequencing of the initial sequence region of a sequence of interest. The methods of the invention allow for more reliable barcoding of subpopulations of nucleic acids to be sequenced."
