ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 31 -- United States Patent no. 12,509,725, issued on Dec. 30, was assigned to Pacific Biosciences of California Inc. (Menlo Park, Calif.).

"Integrated illumination of optical analytical devices" was invented by Paul Lundquist (San Francisco) and Stephen Turner (Seattle).
