ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,214,212, issued on Feb. 4, was assigned to Pacesetter Inc. (Sylmar, Calif.).

"Systems and methods for suppressing and treating atrial fibrillation and atrial tachycardia" was invented by Xing Pei (Thousand Oaks, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed herein are implantable medical devices and systems, and methods for used therewith, that selectively perform atrial overdrive pacing while an intrinsic atrial rate of a patient is within a specified range."

The patent was filed on Dec. 11, 2023, under Application No. 18/535,595.
