US Patent Issued to Overhead Door on Sept. 9 for "Swing door operator" (Texas Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,410,650, issued on Sept. 9, was assigned to Overhead Door Corp. (Lewisville, Texas).

"Swing door operator" was invented by Goutham R. Lalkota (Corpus Christi, Texas).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A door operator including an output shaft, a ball screw, a powered driver, and a yoke. The output shaft is configured to be coupled to a door. The powered driver is operatively coupled to the ball screw and configured to rotate the ball screw in a first rotational direction. The yoke is coupled to the ball screw and configured to translate in response to rotation of the ball screw. The yoke is configured to rotate the output shaft."
