ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,254,971, issued on March 18, was assigned to Oura Health Oy (Oulu, Finland).

"Location-based activity tracking" was invented by Alec Singleton (Toronto), Janne Kukka (Santa Barbara, Calif.), Jukka Partanen (Mantsala, Finland), Dmitry Sergeev (Helsinki) and Azeem Akhter (Helsinki).
