ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,357,362, issued on July 15, was assigned to Osteon Medical LLC (Grand Island, Neb.).
"Kyphoplasty system and method" was invented by Nathan William Murdoch (Grand Island, Neb.) and Cody L. Evans (Grand Island, Neb.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A kyphoplasty system disclosed herein includes various instruments which can be selectively used to perform a kyphoplasty operation on a patient. For example, in some embodiments the kyphoplasty system includes an improved detachment mechanism between the balloon implant and its delivery shaft."
The patent was filed on Aug. 2, 2023, under Application No. 18/229,414.
