ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,359,217, issued on July 15, was assigned to Ospedale San Raffaele S.r.l. (Milan) and Fondazione Telethon ETS (Rome).
"Virus vector production" was invented by Alessio Cantore (Milan), Andrea Annoni (Milan), Michela Milani (Milan) and Luigi Naldini (Milan).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An enveloped viral particle producer or packaging cell, wherein the cell is genetically engineered to decrease expression of CD47 on the surface of the cell."
The patent was filed on May 16, 2019, under Application No. 17/055,151.
