ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,497,436, issued on Dec. 16, was assigned to Orionis Biosciences BV (Zwijnaarde, Belgium), VIB VZW (Ghent, Belgium) and Universiteit Gent (Ghent, Belgium).

"Chimeric protein, and encoding nucleic acid thereof, comprising interferon-Beta and a targeting moiety comprising a single-domain antibody or single-chain antibody" was invented by Nikolai Kley (Newton, Mass.), Jan Tavernier (Balegem, Belgium) and Frank Peelman (Gentbrugge, Belgium).
