ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,365,109, issued on July 22, was assigned to Oregon Tool Inc. (Portland, Ore.).

"Saw chain link with one or more oversized rivet holes" was invented by Michael D. Harfst (Milwaukie, Ore.) and Christopher D. Seigneur (West Linn, Ore.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Embodiments herein provide apparatuses, systems, and methods associated with a saw chain link having one or more oversized rivet holes. A rivet may be disposed in the oversized rivet hole and provide a clearance between the rivet and the edge of the oversized rivet hole that is about 0.010 inches or more.
