ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,277,140, issued on April 15, was assigned to Oracle International Corp. (Redwood Shores, Calif.).

"Consensus protocol for asynchronous database transaction replication with fast, automatic failover, zero data loss, strong consistency, full SQL support and horizontal scalability" was invented by Lik Wong (Palo Alto, Calif.), Leonid Novak (Castro Valley, Calif.), Sampanna Salunke (San Carlos, Calif.), Mark Dilman (Sunnyvale, Calif.) and Wei-Ming Hu (Palo Alto, Calif.).
