ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,443,791, issued on Oct. 14, was assigned to OPEN TEXT HOLDINGS INC. (Menlo Park, Calif.).
"Visual analysis for document import" was invented by Nathaniel McConathy (Lexington, Ky.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Embodiments of the present disclosure extract a layout from a digital image of a document, including performing an analysis of image data to identify areas of content based on a plurality of test lines of pixels in multiple directions and storing the identified areas as design elements of an electronic document template."
The patent was filed on Oct. 3, 2023, under Application No. 18/480,282.
