According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A vehicle lamp that reflects or obstructs light using a film filled with metal flakes, thereby emitting light in a preset pattern includes a light source that emits light, a main film disposed in a light emission path of the light source, and a magnetic field generating unit that generates a magnetic field that influences the main film. The main film includes a functional layer that selectively transmits the light depending on the magnetic field."
