US Patent Issued to Omnicell on Sept. 30 for "Bag transfer mechanism for IV compounding" (Pennsylvania, Washington Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,427,090, issued on Sept. 30, was assigned to Omnicell Inc. (Cranberry Township, Pa.).

"Bag transfer mechanism for IV compounding" was invented by Robert Eckert (Cranberry Township, Pa.), Walter Petersen (Seattle) and Ezekiel Braun (Sewickley, Pa.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A bag transfer mechanism for moving intravenous medication delivery bags includes linear actuator and a pantograph mechanism. A proximal end of the pantograph mechanism is coupled to the linear actuator such a that the pantograph mechanism is configured to extend when the linear actuator travels in a first direction, and to retract when the linear actuator travels...
