ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 20 -- United States Patent no. 12,390,062, issued on Aug. 19, was assigned to Omachron Intellectual Property Inc. (Hampton, Canada).
"Hand carryable surface cleaning apparatus" was invented by Wayne Ernest Conrad (Hampton, Canada), Nina Conrad (Hampton, Canada) and Dave Petersen (Bowmanville, Canada).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A hand vacuum cleaner has a cyclone having a cyclone axis of rotation that extends between the front and rear ends of the cyclone. A main body houses a suction motor. The suction motor is positioned at a lower end of the main body and forward of a battery pack provided at a lower end of a pistol grip handle."
