US Patent Issued to OLYMPUS MEDICAL SYSTEMS on Aug. 12 for "Image pickup unit and endoscope" (Japanese Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,389,101, issued on Aug. 12, was assigned to OLYMPUS MEDICAL SYSTEMS CORP. (Tokyo).

"Image pickup unit and endoscope" was invented by Kazuya Maeda (Nagano, Japan) and Yukiharu Makino (Hachioji, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An image pickup unit includes an image sensor, a first circuit board on which a first land is disposed around four first side surfaces, a second circuit board on which a second land is disposed around four second side surfaces, a movement detection sensor housed in a recess of the first circuit board, and a rectangular tube bonded to the first land the second land sealing the recess in an airtight manner."
