US Patent Issued to OLAPLEX on May 20 for "Compositions and method of use for hair straightening and shaping" (Massachusetts Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,303,583, issued on May 20, was assigned to OLAPLEX INC. (Santa Barbara, Calif.).

"Compositions and method of use for hair straightening and shaping" was invented by Justin Paloni (Cambridge, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Peptides are provided herein, wherein the peptide bearing one or more amino acid sequence differences relative to SEQ ID NO: 1, with the amino acid sequence differences comprising at least one cysteine replacement or addition."
