US Patent Issued to Oil States Energy Services on March 25 for "Valve with pressure differential seating" (Oklahoma Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,259,064, issued on March 25, was assigned to Oil States Energy Services LLC (Houston).

"Valve with pressure differential seating" was invented by Bob McGuire (Meridian, Okla.), Danny Artherholt (Asher, Okla.), Mickey Claxton (Oklahoma City) and Blake Mullins (Edmond, Okla.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A valve for use in oil and gas production or similar applications may include a ball disposed in a cavity of a hollow valve body and a seat comprising a curved surface with a normal component and a normal surface with a surface area larger than a projected normal surface area of the normal component of the curved surface."
