ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,440,894, issued on Oct. 14, was assigned to Ohmium International Inc. (Newark, Calif.).

"Porous electrolyzer gas diffusion layer and method of making thereof" was invented by Arne Ballantine (Incline Village, Nev.), Chockkalingam Karuppaiah (Fremont, Calif.), Dien Nguyen (Saratoga, Calif.) and James Nguyen (San Jose, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A porous titanium sheet configured to function as an anode side gas diffusion layer of a proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzer is formed by a powder technique, such as tape casting or powder metallurgy."
