ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,404,569, issued on Sept. 2, was assigned to Ohio State Innovation Foundation (Columbus, Ohio).
"Magnesium alloys and methods of making and use thereof" was invented by Aihua Luo (Westerville, Ohio) and Renhai Shi (Beijing).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed herein are magnesium alloys and methods of making and use thereof. The magnesium alloys comprise: from 1 to 1.5 wt % Zn, from 1 to 1.4 wt. % Al, from 0.2 to 0.7 wt % Ca, from 0.2 to 0.4 wt % Ce, from 0.1 to 0.8 wt % Mn, and the balance comprising Mg."
The patent was filed on Sept. 28, 2020, under Application No. 17/764,389.
