ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,460,625, issued on Nov. 4, was assigned to OFFICINE MARIO DORIN S.P.A. (Fiesole, Italy).

"Reduced heat exchange reciprocating compressor" was invented by Mario Dorin (Pontassieve, Italy) and Giulio Lenzi (Florence, Italy).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A reciprocating compressor with a head-holding turret in the upper portion of which one or more recesses, open to the outside, are defined, which reduce as much as possible the contact surface with the valve carrier plate above."

The patent was filed on April 17, 2024, under Application No. 18/637,780.
