ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,292,140, issued on May 6, was assigned to Oetiker NY Inc. (Lancaster, N.Y.).
"Radio-frequency identification fluid connection" was invented by Martin R. Price (Buffalo, N.Y.), Kristian James Hagen (Gasport, N.Y.), Kari Ann Sausen (Clarence, N.Y.) and James E. Caroll (Aurora, Ohio).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A radio-frequency identification (RFID) fluid connection, including a tube or hose, the tube or hose including a radially outward facing surface, a RFID assembly or label connected the radially outward facing surface, including a RFID tag, and at least one contact electrically connected to the RFID tag."
