ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,492,146, issued on Dec. 9, was assigned to OATEY Co. (Cleveland).

"Solvent cement formulations" was invented by Amrit Parhar (Westlake, Ohio) and Willie J. Perez (Hudson, Ohio).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided are solvent cement formulations that include cyclopentanone, one or more additional solvents, and at least one resin. The formulations can contain a high concentration of dissolved resin, which confers beneficial properties and enables the use of the formulations for bonding large diameter piping components."

The patent was filed on Sept. 23, 2020, under Application No. 17/029,614.
