ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,417,584, issued on Sept. 16, was assigned to NVIDIA Corp. (Santa Clara, Calif.).

"Neural networks to generate pixels" was invented by Chen-Hsuan Lin (Santa Clara, Calif.), Zhaoshuo Li (Baltimore), Thomas Muller-Hohne (Baar, Switzerland), Alex John Bauld Evans (London), Ming-Yu Liu (San Jose, Calif.) and Alexander Georg Keller (Berlin).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Apparatuses, systems, and techniques to generate pixels based on other pixels. In at least one embodiment, one or more neural networks are used to generate one or more pixels based, at least in part, on sets of pixels surrounding the one or more pixels."
