ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,450,159, issued on Oct. 21, was assigned to NVIDIA Corp. (Santa Clara, Calif.).

"Unified virtual memory management in heterogeneous computing systems" was invented by Weixi Zhu (Houston) and Guilherme Cox (Saratoga, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Apparatuses, systems, and techniques for memory management are disclosed. In at least one embodiment, memory management is provided for a heterogenous system, for example, a system including a CPU and a GPU, in which redundant or unnecessary memory transfers are reduced."

The patent was filed on March 19, 2024, under Application No. 18/610,153.
