ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 18 -- United States Patent no. 12,328,851, issued on June 10, was assigned to Nvidia Corp. (Santa Clara, Calif.).

"Intelligent refrigerant-assisted liquid-to-air heat exchanger for datacenter cooling systems" was invented by Ali Heydari (Albany, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Systems and methods for cooling a datacenter are disclosed. In at least one embodiment, a liquid-to-air heat exchanger is associated with a fan wall and a refrigerant-based cooling system to provide air cooling and refrigerant-based cooling to cool secondary coolant or fluid received from at least one cold plate."
