ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 13 -- United States Patent no. 12,524,850, issued on Jan. 13, was assigned to NVIDIA Corp. (Santa Clara, Calif.).

"Edge-enhanced video frame blending" was invented by Zhekun Luo (Santa Clara, Calif.), Robert Thomas Pottorff (Layton, Utah), Karan Sapra (San Jose, Calif.), Jarmo Rafael Lunden (Espoo, Finland), Andrew J. Tao (Los Altos, Calif.) and Bryan Christopher Catanzaro (Los Altos Hills, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Apparatuses, systems, and techniques to process image frames. In at least one embodiment, one or more edges of one or more objects within one or more images are digitally enhanced before downsampling the one or more objects."
