ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,541,329, issued on Feb. 3, was assigned to Nvidia Corp. (Santa Clara, Calif.).
"Cloud provisioned boot volumes" was invented by Tobias Flitsch (San Jose, Calif.), Shayan Askarian Namaghi (San Jose, Calif.) and Siamak Nazari (Mountain View, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A storage platform with cloud-based management creates and provisions a boot volume for a server in the storage platform during system setup. A storage template defines characteristics of the boot volume and provides a URL to an OS image that a service processing unit can use, without any further actions from the user, to populate the boot volume."
