ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,493,973, issued on Dec. 9, was assigned to NVIDIA Corp. (Santa Clara, Calif.).
"Pose determination using one or more neural networks" was invented by Jonathan Tremblay (Redmond, Wash.), Stan Birchfield (Sammamish, Wash.) and Timothy Lee (Seattle).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Apparatuses, systems, and techniques are presented to determine a pose of an object. In at least one embodiment, a network is trained to predict a pose of an autonomous object based, at least in part, on only one image of the autonomous object."
