US Patent Issued to NUNHEMS on July 1 for "Melon variety NUN 71560 MEM" (California Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,342,774, issued on July 1, was assigned to NUNHEMS B.V. (Nunhem, Netherlands).

"Melon variety NUN 71560 MEM" was invented by Kaori Ando (Acampo, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A new and distinct melon variety NUN 71560 MEM is disclosed as well as seeds and plants and fruits thereof. NUN 71560 MEM is a Honey Dew melon variety, comprising resistance to Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. melonis Race 0 and Race 2, Podosphaera xanthii Race 5, and Aphis gossypii."
