ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,432,298, issued on Sept. 30, was assigned to Numeracle Inc. (Arlington, Va.).

"Validating telephone calls by verifying entity identities using blockchains" was invented by Rebekah Johnson (McLean, Va.) and Mohamed S. Jaffer (Pennington, N.J.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Telephone calls can be validated using blockchains. In one example, a computing node can generate a distributed ledger indicating relationships between telephone numbers and unique identifiers assigned to the telephone numbers. The distributed ledger can be accessible to a telecommunication system for validating telephone calls."
