ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,428,296, issued on Sept. 30, was assigned to Nucor Corp. (Charlotte, N.C.).

"Process for generating clean power and hydrogen" was invented by Lindsay Leveen (Sausalito, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Systems and systems to generate clean energy and for providing hydrogen capture and carbon capture sequestration are provided. Heat from partial oxidation of hydrocarbon fuel is used to generate clean power via one or more heat engines together with hydrogen capture and carbon capture sequestration."

The patent was filed on May 9, 2025, under Application No. 19/204,018.
