ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,492,391, issued on Dec. 9, was assigned to Novozymes A/S (Bagsvaerd, Denmark).

"Cognate foldase co-expression" was invented by Ane Quesada Ganuza (Vitoria, Spain), Michael Dolberg Rasmussen (Vallensbaek, Denmark) and Allan Kent Nielsen (Copenhagen, Denmark).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to means and methods for optimizing expression of a heterologous polypeptide of interest in Gram-positive host cells by co-expression with a foldase that is cognate to the heterologous polypeptide of interest."

The patent was filed on Jan. 22, 2020, under Application No. 17/426,048.
