ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,331,104, issued on June 17, was assigned to Novartis AG (Basel, Switzerland).

"Hepatitis B antibodies" was invented by Stefan Ewert (Geroldswil, Switzerland), Meghan Marie Holdorf (Oakland, Calif.) and Elisabetta Traggiai (Basel, Switzerland).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to anti-HBsAg antibodies, antibody fragments, and their uses for the prevention and treatment of hepatitis B virus infection and associated diseases."

The patent was filed on Feb. 6, 2024, under Application No. 18/434,265.
