ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,409,205, issued on Sept. 9, was assigned to Northwestern University (Evanston, Ill.).

"Nanomolecules for the treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases" was invented by Arun Sharma (Elmwood Park, Ill.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided herein are anti-inflammatory peptide amphiphiles (AIF-PAs) and methods of use thereof. In particular, nanofiber of AIF-PAs are provided and methods of use thereof in the treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases (e.g., Crohn's disease)."

The patent was filed on April 12, 2019, under Application No. 17/047,299.
