ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,414,981, issued on Sept. 16, was assigned to Northwestern University (Evanston, Ill.).
"JNK inhibitors for use in treating and preventing neurodegenerative disorders" was invented by Puneet Opal (Evanston, Ill.) and Chandrakanth Reddy Edamakanti (Evanston, Ill.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed are compounds, compositions, and methods for treating and/or preventing neurodegenerative diseases and disorders. Particularly disclosed are compounds, compositions, and methods for treating and/or preventing neurodegenerative diseases and disorders such as spinocerebellar ataxia type 1 (SCA1) by administering a JNK inhibitor."
