ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,291,533, issued on May 6, was assigned to Northwestern University (Evanston, Ill.).
"Substituted fused pyrimidine compounds and uses thereof" was invented by Dimitri Krainc (Chicago), Richard B. Silverman (Winnetka, Ill.) and Jianbin Zheng (Evanston, Ill.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed are new small molecules having a substituted pyrimidine or substituted fused pyrimidine core structure and the uses thereof for modulating glucocerebrosidase activity. Also disclosed are pharmaceutical compositions comprising the small molecules which may be administered in methods of treating diseases or disorders associated with glucocerebrosid...
