ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,415,828, issued on Sept. 16, was assigned to NOOGEN LLC (Novosibirsk, Russia).

"Modified oligonucleotides and methods for their synthesis" was invented by Dmitry Stetsenko (Hampshire, Great Britain), Maxim Kupryushkin (Kemerovo, Russia) and Dmitrii Pyshnyi (Novosibirsk, Russia).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Modified oligonucleotides that contain one or more of the phosphate groups substituted at phosphorus and methods for their synthesis are disclosed."
