ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,332,603, issued on June 17, was assigned to Nivarox-FAR S.A. (Le Locle, Switzerland).

"Timepiece assembly and method for manufacturing the same" was invented by Jonas Vannod (Bienne, Switzerland) and Christian Charbon (Chezard-St-Martin, Switzerland).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A timepiece assembly including a first component and a second component assembled under stress, wherein at least one part of the surface of the assembly is coated with a protective layer intended to cover defects such as cracks or incipient cracks after assembly. It also relates to the method for manufacturing this assembly."
