ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,538,927, issued on Feb. 3, was assigned to NISHINIHON NICHIMO Co. LTD. (Shimonoseki, Japan).
"Fish sedating device" was invented by Sho Ito (Tokyo) and Ryosuke Tanaka (Shimonoseki, Japan).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A fish sedation device that reliably energizes and sedates fish and enables a slaughter operation to be satisfactorily performed by energizing fish on a mat from electrodes via high resistance water which has a higher electrical resistance than that of the fish."
The patent was filed on April 28, 2022, under Application No. 18/684,776.
